Welcome

Completing an Introductory course is the most common step people take towards becoming a Cognitive Analytic Therapist.

Here at Learn with CATO, we have developed this online and on-demand Introductory course for you to study at your own pace, in an environment and time that suits you best. If you need to pause and rewind something, you can. If you just need to take a break and come back to it later, you can.

The course will take you methodically through your discovery of the CAT model and encourages reflection on your own practice, which ultimately culminates in you practicing some of the CAT tools yourself at the end of the course.

We hope you enjoy completing it as much as we enjoyed making it.

Best wishes,

Hayden & Dawn

Frequently asked questions

How long will it take me to complete the course?

In total, the 12 modules are around 4 hours in length, but we wouldn't recommend that you watch them all in one go.

For the best experience, we would recommend that you watch 1 or 2 modules a week and use the time in between to reflect on what you have learnt and your practice.

How do I become an Accredited CAT Therapist?

The route to becoming an accredited CAT Therapist is through an approved Practitioner course, which requires both academic and practice based assessments.

You can find out more about this from the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT). However, clinicians often complete an Introduction Course before undertaking the 3 year training.

Who are the course tutors?

With over 48 years of experience between them, Dawn and Hayden are passionate CAT therapists as well as registered mental health nurses. If you want to know more, visit the About section of the site.
